WPPF completes successful training programs in Vietnam With the support of the World Health Organisation, the WPPF completed training programs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam from 17 February until 23 February 2008, to support the new good pharmacy practice statutes introduced by the Vietnam Ministry of Health. The Forum was asked by the Director General of Drug Administration Vietnam, after helping write the new statutes, to conduct 'train the trainer' programs in hospital and community pharmacists. The program trained approximately 150 pharmacists in Vietnam who will now go out and conduct training programs for their fellow practising pharmacists. The team consisted of Dr Greg Duncan and Associate Professor Kay Stewart of Monash University, Australia and Associate Professor Wai Keung Chui of the National University of Singapore who is also Vice-President of the Forum. The team also included the President of WPPF, John Ware and the Director-General of Health, Dr Cuong and the Deputy Head of the Drug Business Management Division, Tu Viet Lan who is responsible for the progress of GPP in the country. Following the program in Hanoi two pharmacist officers from the drug Administration Vietnam Nguyen Anh Dao and Nguyen Thanh Tu were proficient and joined the training team for the program in Ho Chi Minh City. Dr Graham Harrison, a WHO representative in Vietnam spoke on behalf of the World Health Organisation.
