As 2005 marks the 100th year of pharmacy education and practice in Singapore and Malaysia, the 17th SPC will be a special event as it is jointly organized by the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore. 2005 commemorates the formation of the Straits Pharmaceutical Society, the predecessor of the current PSS, a century ago and it also became mandatory then to have a pharmaceutical license in order to practice pharmacy in Singapore. The congress is part of a series of celebratory events to commemorate the centennial of the National University of Singapore, a significant milestone which began with the establishment of tertiary medical and pharmacy education at the King Edward VII College of Medicine in 1905.

This landmark congress is an eagerly awaited event that draws together academics, professionals, scientists and alumni in the field of pharmacy and biomedical sciences.

The 17th SPC will feature a dynamic and stimulating scientific programme, casting focus on contemporary issues in pharmacy practice, pharmacy education, pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences and research. The programme will be designed to encompass a broad, well-rounded range of topics with a varied faculty of speakers. The congress will examine local, as well as, global issues, creating a relevant and comprehensive forum for its varied participants.

The list of invited speakers will include prominent local and international professionals and experts for a multi-perspective exploration of the latest challenges in pharmacy and biomedical sciences.

Do set aside the date to join us for what will be an enriching and jubilant experience among colleagues from Singapore, the region and beyond.
