Delegates to the AACP Accredited Pharmacists’ Forum being held as part of PAC13 in Brisbane in October will be given a unique opportunity to hear from a leading geriatrician who will present on Meeting the challenges of managing multi morbidities in the oldest old.

Dr Anthony French, consultant physician and geriatrician, will be one of a number of expert speakers who will present at the forum on Thursday, 10 October.

Dr French, FRACP, is currently growing a busy private practice in geriatric medicine at Brisbane Private Hospital and various other private hospitals across Brisbane as Practice Principal at Queensland Geriatric Medicine Group.

He has an interest in geriatric rehabilitation, perioperative medicine, ortho-geriatrics and education.

Dr French has multiple research interests including managing polypharmacy in the elderly and Alzheimer’s disease and is currently working on a publication on utilising the Drug Burden Index in hospital inpatients.

Dr French is also a previous member of the Federal Council of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and is active with multiple educational initiatives with both the College of Physicians and the ANZSGM.

The theme for PAC13 is ONE profession, ONE focus, ONE voice which will focus on unity in the profession, in the delivery of services and in the goal of better health outcomes.

These are the keys to the profession growing in the future and remaining viable and sustainable while continuing to improve the health and wellbeing of the population.

The Accredited Pharmacists’ Forum is a feature of PAC this year and delegates attending both the AACP forum and PAC will be offered a 50 per cent discount on the Friday cost of their PAC attendance.

PAC13 will be held at the Brisbane Convention Centre from 10-13 October 2013. To    register, go to psa.org.au/pac
